Marianne Bjørnmyr lives and works as an visual artist in Bodø. She received her MA in Photography from London College of Communication in 2012.

 

In her practice Marianne works with research based art where she though theoretical and practical investigations challenges the photograph as a document and depiction, and the representation of the photograph is set up against our understanding, interpretation and generated perception of imagery.

 

Marianne’s work has been exhibited internationally including Høstutstillingen, Den Nordnorske Kunstutstilling, Daniel Blau’s, Daniel Blau London, Kunstquartier Bethanien Berlin og Aldama Fabre Gallery, Bilbao. She has published the books An Authentic Relation, Beneath the Salt and Shadows/Echoes, and participated at photobook shows in amongst Tokyo, Paris, Amsterdam, London, Roma og Wien.

 

In 2016 Marianne received a two year working grant for artists from the Arts Council Norway. Together with Dan Mariner she started Atelier NOUA in Bodø in 2017.

 

 

 

Marianne Bjørnmyr bor og jobber som billedkunster i Bodø. Marianne fullførte i 2012 en Master of Arts i fotografi fra London College of Communication.

 

I sin praksis jobber Marianne med undersøkende kunst hvor hun gjennom teoretiske og praktiske undersøkelser utfordrer fotografiet som dokument og avbildning, og hvor presentasjonen av fotografiet er satt opp mot vår forståelse, tolkning og genererte oppfattelse av bildemateriale.

 

Mariannes arbeid har tidligere blitt stilt ut nasjonalt og internasjonalt blant annet på Høstutstillingen, Den Nordnorske kunstutstilling, Daniel Blau London, Kunstquartier Bethanien Berlin og Aldama Fabre Gallery, Bilbao. Hun har publisert bøkene An Authentic Relation, Beneath the Salt og Shadows/Echoes som alle har blitt stilt ut på fotobokmesser i bla. Tokyo, Paris, Amsterdam, London, Roma og Wien.

 

Marianne mottok et 2-årig arbeidsstipend for yngre og nyetablerte kunstnere i 2016. Hun startet i 2017 Atelier NOUA i Bodø i samarbeid med Dan Mariner.
