Bård Ek (b.1964) has a BA (hons) in photography from Surrey College of Art and Design in UK. He lives and works in Oslo, he also teaches photography at Bilder Nordic school of photography. Bård has made four photo books with his own work and has been widely exhibited.

At the moment Bård Ek is mainly concentrated on photography in nature.

 

By using artificial light, Bård wishes to highlight our distanced relationship to

nature, as something beautiful to look at and a place for recreation. We act like we are not part of nature anymore. It becomes alienated and something we want to control. To save the environment and climate we now increasingly use the latest technology to manipulate and regain control.

Bård investigates these boarders between man made and nature.

I de siste årene har Bård Ek konsentrert seg om fotografering i naturen.Ved å bruke kunstig lys, ønsker Bård å markere vårt distanserte forhold til natur, som noe vakkert å se på og et sted for rekreasjon.Vi opptrer som om vi ikke er en del av naturen lenger. Naturen blir fremmed  og noe vi vil kontrollere. For å redde miljøet og klimaet bruker vi i økende grad den nyeste teknologien til å manipulere og gjenvinne kontrollen. Bård undersøker grensene mellom det menneskeskapte og natur.
