HEGE DONS SAMSET

I am a Norwegian artist based in Oslo and Berlin. The starting point of my work is the analogue photograph, but by experimenting and incorporating other disciplines, such as sound, textile and video, I seek to achieve the most perceptible rendition of what I experienced out in the field, and communicate it to the viewer. I am interested in telling stories through the use of images, sounds and texts, specifically in that I in exhibitions seek to create spatial installations.

The core of my artistic working method is travelling and exploring landscapes and habitats, to understand how our relationship to nature shapes people living in different parts of the world and create my art in response to this. By using humour I create absurd symbolic images of how we humans stumble through life.
